A present day psychological horror story.
Set, and to be filmed, in a TV studio in London’s Soho on the very site of the cholera epidemic of 1854.
A documentary is just finishing off shooting about Dr John Snow, his pioneering medical work, and the local water pump story.
Husband and wife team of David, presenter and director, and Laura, the editor and producer, are clearly having marital problems, the pressure of the shoot adding to Laura’s already nervous disposition.
When Laura finds their son George left behind in the studio after all the crew have left for the evening, to go to the John Snow pub, things begin to unravel into a downward spiral of horror, bringing back the past of 1854 and Laura and David’s own personal nightmare.
The film is set, and will be filmed, at 01 zero-one studios on the corner of Hopkins Street and Peter Street Soho. This location is on the John Snow Ghost Map and has a number of deaths from the 1854 cholera epidemic marked on the site where the studio now stands.
The films aims to highlight the work of Dr John Snow, his advancement of epidemiology and the waterborne nature of cholera, as well as promoting current medical expertise, especially the truth around the MMR vaccine, debunking the disastrous fake autism scare which has lead to a huge increases in measles worldwide. For some real information about vaccines see this BBC news piece Alarm as uptake drops for all routine child jabs from 26th Sept 2019.
The film also aims to be a highly entertaining psychological horror film talking it’s inspiration from such classics as Nic Roeg’s ‘Don’t Look Now’, Stanley Kubrick’s ‘The Shining’ with a touch of Roman Polanski’s ‘Rosemary’s Baby’.
Filming is planned to take place throughout the first half of 2020, with a release date of January 2021.
We are looking for financial contributions as this film is a totally independent production, a personal project all self funded. If you are interest please do get in touch at: matt@fbhfilms.com
We also want to hear from medial experts about their views on the MMR vaccine scandal and how vaccines are being denigrated in the society at present. We are planning a companion short documentary about Dr John Snow’s work, his struggle with the authorities to get the truth out and how that mirrors the anti-vaccine movement today with the discredited Wakefield’s fake autism story and it’s horrific repercussions.
We are also looking for extras, especially for the re-enactment scenes of Soho in 1854. Plans are to shoot this in early January 2020.
We are the same team that produced The Warehouse our first feature film. This won Best Director award at the Southampton’s International Film Festival. It was also screened at the Berlin Independent Festival and was picked up by London Live TV channel where it was Pick of the Day in The Evening Standard when it screened on the Saturday evening slot.
The Warehouse was also a self funded production made on a very modest budget.
The team have also made many short films that have screen at International festivals and produced award winning plays in both London and New York over the course of the past 15 years they have been working together.
